New York, October 11, 2018—It is with great sorrow that Ludwig Cancer Research shares news of the death of Adolf Kammerer, who passed away on October 5, 2018. A former partner at the Swiss law firm Niederer Kraft Frey, Kammerer was among the founding Board members of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. Since joining in May, 1971, he had served not only as a director, but as legal counsel to the Institute. Kammerer helped design the legal architecture of the Institute when he was still a young lawyer, recalls Ludwig President and CEO Edward McDermott, saying how much he and others on the Board appreciated Kammerer’s advice, legal acumen and companionship over the years.
“We shall miss not only his wise counsel but his fairness, consideration to others, great charm and delightful sense of humor,” says former CFO and current Secretary to the Board Richard Walker. Ludwig extends its deepest condolences to Dolf’s family and friends. He will be missed by the organization and his colleagues on the Ludwig Board.
