New Ludwig partnership in Brazil

On April 13 and 14, 2012, the Hospital Sírio-Libanês (HSL) will host Intersections – 1st International Cooperative Cancer Symposium in São Paulo to celebrate a new strategic partnership among with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR), Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and HSL. The two-day event will bring together leading oncologists from Brazil and around the world.

Capitalizing on the strengths and resources of the three institutions, the partnership will undertake research in the field of molecular oncology, facilitate and conduct clinical trials and foster long-term collaborative programs in basic, translational and clinical cancer research.

The HSL Center for Molecular Oncology is headed by Anamaria Camargo, senior scientist at LICR. She is thrilled to be part of this ambitious new venture and said, “HSL is famous for its pioneering practices and excellent service. Combining the extensive experience of LICR in cancer genetics and the development of new drugs will augment HSL’s cancer treatment capabilities. It’s definitely a win-win for everyone involved.”
